Unfinished White Oak No. 3 Common hardwood flooring comes from a long line of beautiful White Oaks. Being that it is a White Oak, that does mean that it is apt to undergo moderate color changes overtime, taking on a slightly amber tone. It is essentially a straight-grained wood with a medium to coarse texture and longer rays than its close relative Red Oak. In addition, the sapwood of White Oak is almost white, while the heartwood is grayish brown.
